Tracy, Try to start with smaller goals, when you achieve that one, set another a little higher and so on.

Here is a Brian Tracy Goal Setting Exercise:

Take a blank sheet of paper and write ten goals that you want to achieve in the next year. Make them present tense, positive and personal, using “I” then an action verb. Ex. I earn $10,000 per month February 1, 2009

Be clear, specific and detailed. Imagine that you’re placing an order to be fulfilled by a factory, so you need to very clear about your goals, so you get what you want.

Identify obstacles to overcome to reach your goals. Ask “Why haven’t I already achieved the goal?” What are the main obstacles that set the speed of me obtaining the goal?

Identify the skills you will need to obtain your goals. What is the one skill that would make the most impact? Your weakest critical skill determines your income. Ex. If you're great at prospecting and presenting, but struggle with closing statements, that would be your weakest critical skill.

Identify the people who can help you achieve your goals, such as mentors, upline support, etc. Ask “Who are your ideal customers?” Be a go-giver, not a go-getter

Make a list of all of the above. Organize the list by sequence and priority. Put it into a plan / checklist

Plan your year, month, week, and day ahead of time. Taking 10 minutes to plan the night before makes you much more effective.

Pick which goal would have the greatest impact when you achieve it. Write it down as a personal mission statement with a plan of action. Focus 80% of your time on this goal, as it will have the greatest effect on your life. Your top goal is most likely directly related to many of your other top ten goals, so they will be fulfilled as well. Ex. Let's say my primary goal is to be a Diamond with my mlm company. Reaching that goal will also fulfill some of my other top ten goals of making $20k/month, becoming debt free, living in my dream home, etc..

Make it clear, specific, detailed, and set a deadline. Write down any obstacles. Write down the knowledge and skills you will need. Write down the people who can help.

Get a spiral notebook. Write out the word GOALS and the date on the top of the page, and write out your top ten goals every day. Writing down your top ten goals without looking at the previous day helps reinforce them.

Visualize your goals as accomplished. Visualize them before bed. Feel the emotions of achieving each goal and how it impacts your life.

EIGHTY PERCENT OF SUCCESS IS SHOWING UP

The only way to start to improve your life is to start.
Once you're sure you're on the right road there is no need
to plan your journey too far ahead.

Don't burden yourself with doubts and fears as to the obstacles
that may bar your progress.
You can only take one step at a time.

You don't need to know all the answers in advance.
Just maintain a clear idea of the goal you want to reach
and the answers will come in their own time.

If you can get up the courage to begin,
you have the courage to succeed.

It's the job you never start that takes the longest to finish.
Go after what you want and you'll get it.
