Squidoo in Social Networking

Are you using this amazing tool yet in your social networking game plan? Doug had a great session on it a few days back. I have used it for the last 18 months or so, and find it quite addicting, and it also pays off.

I have to share a funny story. I built this lens in about 2 hours about the town where I live -

I put it up on Wednesday. On Friday, I went to a BBQ and my friend Pat Enterrios, who is the Real Estate person I recommend on the page, was there and she had already received a Referral from the site!

WOW! I am so happy for her and so happy to see the power of what Squidoo can do.

You don't have to build a lens strictly about your business. Create a profile that will tell people that and then have fun creating lenses that educate and have the potential to rank highly in the Search Engines for their own keywords!

Great post and what a blessing to already have a referral. I totally concur with you. Squidoo lenses do not, I repeat, DO NOT, have to be created solely around your business! Of course if you have PASSION for something, are into a certain subject, author, recipe, movie, yada, yada, yada...ANYTHING is possible with Squidoo that your mind can think of.

Sure we have Squidoo lenses that are focused around the theme of our business (and that's important because Squidoo can help your keyword phrases rank higher in the search engines), but you can do fun things, things that interest you...whatever!

I've got two examples that I'm passionate about:

I love the sport of DISC GOLF! Great recreational sport...sooooo....I created a Squidoo lens around helping people Learn To Play Disc Golf. http://www.squidoo.com/learntoplaydiscgolf

And because my past business life includes managing one of the COOLEST places in all of Seattle, I wanted to create a Squidoo lens on the soul of Seattle, the Pike Place Market. http://www.squidoo.com/thepikeplacemarket
